FORT HOOD - Maj. Gen. Joseph Fil, commander of the 1st Cavalry Division, and Wendy Fil, his wife, paused recently from the hectic tempo of deployment to talk about the year ahead for each.
By the beginning of November, the division will essentially be in place - poised to take over from the 4th Infantry Division commanded by Maj. Gen. James D. Thurman.
