The temporary closure will allow additional excavation to take place, in preparation for the widening of the 31st Street bridge.
The ongoing, nearly two-mile project is widening the existing four-lane divided roadway travel lanes and shoulders, increasing frontage roads capacity to a minimum of three lanes and adding continuous turn lanes to the 31st Street bridge, as well as improving the north/south approaches to that bridge.
TxDOT continues to advise motorists to seek alternate routes, as congestion and delays on Loop 363 can be expected during the project, which is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2008, weather permitting.
