Dr. John Hancock, assistant superintendent of administration and student services, said that some time last week a teacher used Scotch tape placed over the lap of a student to allegedly keep the student from getting up.
Hancock said an investigation is ongoing and the teacher has been placed on administrative leave.
School Superintendent Beto Gonzalez said that placing a teacher on paid leave is standard procedure in any investigation and the consequences if the teacher is found to be at fault range from a letter of reprimand to termination.
