On Jan. 1, the newest district court in Bell County, the 426th, will officially open, but who will preside over it remains a mystery. Four Bell County lawyers - John Galligan, Scott Allen, Fancy Jezek and Mary Black Pearson - are hoping to fill the newest bench in Bell County.
Ms. Black Pearson and Allen linked their reasons for applying to local residents. Galligan and Ms. Jezek could not be reached for comment.
