CAMERON - They are the crown jewels of Christmas ornaments.

Dressed to the nines in satin and lace, glittering with sequins, pearls, rhinestones, and kaleidoscopic faux gems, these sparkling pieces - in pure prima donna fashion - demand dominance amid the glitzy array of holiday decorations.

Charles King, Milam County Historical Museum director, said this collection of about 50 spectacular Christmas tree trimmings was the handiwork of Dr. E. Douglas Perrin, a physician who practiced in Cameron until his death in the 1990s.

The ornaments possibly were crafted in 1952 in Abilene and were donated to the museum in 1997, where they were displayed each year aboard the branches on the museum tree.
