UMHB shot 57 percent from the field and 52 percent from 3-point range, bombing Ripon (Wis.) for an 86-72 victory Saturday afternoon at Mayborn Campus Center to finish 2-0 in the Classic.
Senior guard Kevin Guyden was the catalyst for the Crusaders (6-3). He hit jump shots of all varieties - turnarounds, fadeaways, pull-ups - and his teammates followed suit.
By the time intermission rolled around, Guyden had 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting and the Crusaders held a 51-33 lead after going 10-for-17 from beyond the arc. Guyden finished with 29 points to give him a two-day total of 42, the most of any player in the four-team Classic.
