BELTON - For the past several years Connie Demerson has been involved in a labor of love as she has worked to see her old high school become the centerpiece of the Belton community as the Harris Community Center.

Mrs. Demerson, a Belton school trustee and president of the West Belton/Harris High Ex-students Association, was named the winner of the 2007 Beltonian Award on Thursday night at the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce
