Private services will be held at a later date for Daniel Wayne Sapp, 69, of Waukegan, Ill., and formerly of Temple.

Mr. Sapp died Monday, Jan. 15, at his home.

He was born and raised in Temple, where he lived until he joined the Navy. Mr. Sapp retired from the Navy after 21 years of service at the rank of chief gunners mate. He served two tours in Vietnam. He retired at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Waukegan, Ill., where he was employed for about nine years in civil service.

Survivors are his wife, Echi Sapp of Waukegan, Ill.; a son, Charles Wayne Sapp of Waukegan; a sister, Helen Jordan of Dequincy, La.; and two brothers, Bill Sapp of Rockport and Rick Sapp of Bell County.
