Christian leaders in Temple recognized the start of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with an ecumenical celebration at First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Jan. 18.
During the eight days set aside each year for the Week of Prayer, Jan. 18-25, the various Christian subsects focus on what they have in common. The tradition started in 1908 with the Episcopal Church at New York.
