WASHINGTON (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., officially took the threw his hat in the ring Sunday for an expected White House run in 2008 by taking the first step in the race.

Richardson will attempt to run as a high-profile state chief who promoted his extensive experience in Washington and the world stage as he seeks to become the first Hispanic president.
