Jack Dooley Jr., 82, of Troy died Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Services for Mr. Dooley will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Dr. Mark Bumpus and the Rev. Harlan Haines will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in The Veterans Field of Honor in Bellwood Cemetery in Temple.

He was born in Troy and married Jamie Lee Thompson. He served as a radio operator and gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a Mason, a longtime deacon at the First Baptist Church in Troy, a retired rural letter carrier and past president of the Texas Rural Letter Carriers Association. He also owned and operated Dooley
