Ryan Tony Davis, 18, was booked into Bell County jail on an arson charge Wednesday. His bond is $100,000.
Reynaldo Jimenez, 18, was charged with arson Wednesday, but was already in jail on a separate burglary charge. Jimenez and another man were arrested Christmas day for a burglary on Downing Street in Belton. His bond is set at $100,000 for the arson charge and $35,000 for the burglary charge.
The two were out on bail after being charged for burglary of the Lampasas High School sports complex. That case broke after somebody from Belton High School told Belton police that a surveillance image from the crime scene appeared to be Jimenez and Davis.
According to an arrest affidavit, Davis said he and Jimenez broke into several fieldhouses, each time wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints.
While burglarizing the Troy fieldhouse, Jimenez reportedly noticed that one of his gloves had torn. In an attempt to destroy evidence Davis said Jimenez sprinkled lighter fluid on a pile of clothes and told him to leave the fieldhouse.
Davis said he saw Jimenez run from the fieldhouse as smoke began coming out the door.
C.D. Williams, an investigator at the state fire marshals office ruled the fire arson and said it started in the laundry and storage area of the fieldhouse.
In September, Bell County Fire Marshal Steve Casey estimated the damage to the Troy fieldhouse at $300,000. He said at the time fingerprints were part of the evidence being processed by an Austin crime lab.
Casey did not return phone calls on Thursday.
