Services for Cecil Louis Garrett Sr., 68, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Temple will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Garden of Memories with Bishop A.L. Thomas Sr. officiating.
He died Friday, Jan. 26, in a Dallas hospital.
He was born in Oklahoma City to Freelon Garrett and Maydel Fails Lindsey. He married Sara Roundtree of Temple in 1964.
Survivors are a son, Cecil Garrett Jr. of Austin; three daughters, Cecilia Garrett-Curtis of Temple, Charlotta Garrett Gunns of Killeen and Annissa Johnson of Oklahoma City; seven brothers, Willie Hopkins and David Garrett of California; Kenneth Fails, Maurice Fails and Don Fails, all of Oklahoma City, Adolphus Garrett, Gregory Garrett and David Garrett of California; five sisters, Symiria Parks of Montgomery, Ala., Donnetta Fails-Clay of Omaha, Neb., Elsie Whitaker of North Carolina, Helen Fails Taffe and Jerri Fails Jones of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. today at Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple.
