BELTON - An overnight fire Sunday at Sparta Elementary in Belton forced school district officials to notify parents and teachers that classes will be shifted to the District Educational Development Center this morning.

Schools spokeswoman Judy Owens said that the fire, which started in a bathroom that connects to two classrooms, caused smoke damage throughout the school.
