Jimmy L. VonGonten, 65, of Rogers, died Monday, April 2, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Rogers with Rev. Will Passmore officiating.
Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.
Mr. VonGonten was born in Cameron to Johnnie VonGonten and Jane Ondrasek VonGonten. He graduated from Rogers High School and attended business college. He married Shirley Moreland on Aug. 26, 1961. He worked as an insurance representative. He moved back to the Rogers area 32 years ago where he was active with softball. He coached the Cen-Tex Babes for 15 years. He also served on the Rogers City Council for 12 years and was a volunteer at Rogers Elementary School.
Survivors are his wife, of Rogers; four daughters, Cindy VonGonten-Villarreal of Georgetown, Rhonda Latham of Temple, and Melissa VonGonten and Jennifer Maple, both of Rogers; two sisters, Doris Akard of Waco and Judy Deaver of Temple; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
