Sparta students board a bus Monday morning to travel to another Belton school district facility while fire and smoke was cleaned up at Sparta Elementary.
BELTON - The Sunday morning fire that destroyed a bathroom and damaged two pre-K classrooms at Sparta Elementary ended up displacing the entire school for five hours Monday.
By 2 p.m. all but two pre-K classes were back on campus - a total of 633 students. This was after spending the morning at the former Belton Junior High, now called the Educational Development Center.
