Services for Herbert B. Holleman III, 77, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Temple Ministries in Temple with the Rev. D.S. McBride officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Holleman died Monday, May 7, at a Temple hospital.
He was born in Amarillo to Herbert Holleman and Ella Marshall and was reared in Temple by his “Grandpa” Ennis Marshall and his mother. At the age of 16, he joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II and the Korean War, receiving the Silver Star Medal. After leaving the military, he returned to Temple where he owned and operated Triple A Mini-Mart, the Locomotive Hobby Center and Temple Body Works. He married Barbara Jean Pennington in 1951.
Survivors include his wife, of Temple; six sons, Bruce Holleman, Anthony Shores, Donald Ray Shores, Raymond Shores and Barry Shores, all of Temple and Victor Holleman of Ponder; six daughters, Vyetta Brown, Willie R. Anderson and Elizabeth A. Holleman, all of Temple, Vanessa Lawrence of Amarillo, Tammie Allen of Dallas, Sherry Shores of Denton and Leslie Shores of Sanger; five brothers, Lonnie Holleman, Ulysee Marshall, Waymon Marshall, Enis “Pee Wee” Marshall and Robert Lee Marshall, all of Temple; three sisters, Delores Weddington and Dorothy Kearns, both of Temple and Joyce Lloyd of Waco; 27 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple.
