F. Dale Arnold, 91, of Temple died Friday, May 11, at his home.
A private funeral Mass will be held by the Rev. Anselm Anukam.
Burial will be in the family plot in Arriba, Colo.
Mr. Arnold was born in Curtis, Neb., to John and Maude Maltrous Arnold and he worked abroad for various American, Canadian and Mexican mining companies.
He worked four years in Peru, three years in Nicaragua and 26 years in Mexico where he was treasurer for a large mining company the last six years before his retirement.
He graduated from Alliance High School in 1933 where he was an All-State halfback and he played football two years for Chadron College. He received a bachelor’s degree from Regis College in Denver.
He married Gertrude Kleber on May 18, 1941, and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2001.
He was a school board member for six years and was a member of a Boy Scouts board for five. After retiring, he volunteered at the senior center working with income tax returns.
Survivors include two sons, John Arnold of Temple and Paul Arnold of Covington, La.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice.
Sheffield Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
