David Glenn Tucker, 46, of Moody was last seen May 2 when he made a grocery store trip during a potent storm.
After Tucker’s disappearance, police discovered his 2005 silver Toyota-Tundra jammed into South Bosque Creek near a low-water crossing, but no other clues had turned up until Saturday.
Almost a mile north of where the truck was located, family and friends discovered human remains, as well as several articles of clothing, Moody Police officer Ricky Ray said.
Family and friends came across three bones, thought to be human bones, all in different areas along the bank, Ray said.
Tucker’s family could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
Ray noted that a skull was not found among the bones, which could have proven to be more conclusive since the family has dental records of Tucker.
The McClennan County Sheriff’s Office took the bones into custody, Ray said. They plan to conduct a DNA test to decide if they belong to Tucker.
The clothing found included a pair of denim jeans and a belt, which Ray said Tucker’s father identified as belonging to his son. The search also turned up an empty prescription bottle in the jean pocket, but Ray was unsure whether or not the label was intact because it had possibly been setting in the water since Tucker disappeared a month ago.
Ray took the initial missing person report from the family on Tucker. Originally, Ray suspected foul play, but no longer believes that assumption with the discovery of human remains and identified articles of clothing.
Until the remains are identified as Tucker, Ray will keep the missing person report active.
“At this point, it’s only a strong assumption that the bones belong to Mr. Tucker,” Ray said.
