BELTON — Private services with full military honors will be held for Franklin Delano Roosevelt Parker, 74, of Copperas Cove.
Burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Parker died Tuesday, June 5, in Temple.
He was born in Orangeburg, S.C., to Aden Parker and Mattie Lou Harley. He married Sallie L. Bolin in Lexington County, South Carolina, on Aug. 15, 1955.
He retired from the U.S. Army, where he served during in the Korean War and two tours in the Vietnam War. His military awards and decorations include two Bronze Service Stars; Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster; and a Bronze Star with one oak leaf cluster. He was a member of the Copperas Cove VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1966.
Survivors are a son, Franklin L. Parker of Temple; a daughter, Caroline D. Parker of Copperas Cove; three sisters, Rosebud Young and Hazel Bruner, both of Neese, S.C., and Mattie Mae Mcullum of Orangeburg, S.C.
