HALIFAX, England — Services for Percy John Heath, 90, of Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Clare Road Chapel, in Halifax.
The body will be cremated.
He died Thursday, June 28, at a Halifax nursing home.
He was born in Newcastle U-Lyme, England, to John and Emily Heath. He retired from Peglars International as a brass fitting supervisor in 1976 after 25 years of service. He had also worked for the water reservoir system in Yorkshire, England. He married Lucy Wilson on Sept. 29, 1945, in Halifax Parish Church in Halifax. She preceded him in death in August 1989. He served in the Royal Signals of the British Army 1939-1945 during World War II. He served at Dunkirk, Northern Italy, France and Northern Africa. His military decorations include 1939-45 Campaign Star, 1st Army Africa Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal for Brave Conduct at Dunkirk and War Medal 1939-1945. He was founding member of the Halifax Cine Movie Club, a co-founder of the Halifax Underprivileged Children’s Camp at Lake Windemere, the Boy’s Brigade and Ackroyden Bowling Club of Yorkshire.
Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Wulbrecht of Holland, Texas, and Joyce Bryan of Wheatley, Halifax; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
