ROSEBUD — Services for Glenard Henry Hering, 82, of Ben Arnold will be 10 a.m. Friday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with the Rev. James Wheeless and the Rev. Walter Dhanwar officiating.
A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Thursday followed by visitation to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hering died Sunday, July 1, at his residence.
He was born in Westphalia to Adolph and Rosie Pelzel Hering. He lived in the Ben Arnold community for the past 32 years. He married Flora Forrister on Jan. 28, 1947. He worked for Ralph Wilson Plastics in Temple from 1962 to 1984. He also worked in the oil fields and farmed. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded the purple heart. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Ben Arnold.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 1, 2006.
Survivors are one son, Raymond Hering of Ben Arnold; one daughter, Betty Paddie of Ben Arnold; one brother, Justin Hering of Oenaville; three sisters, Geraldine Hoelscher and Georgia Ketterman, both of Westphalia, and Veronica Roessler of Rosebud; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
