Services for Ruthie Mae Hollie, 77, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wayman Chapel AME Church in Temple with the Rev. Revel Simpson officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Zion Garden of Memories in Temple.
Mrs. Hollie died Friday, Sept. 7, at a Temple hospital.
She was born in Moody to Jimmy Cage and Irene Sneed. She retired after 17½ years of service at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Center in Temple. She married Jessie James Hollie in Childress.
He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karon Brown.
She attended school in Lorena. She moved to Temple in 1970 and joined Bethel IME Church.
In 1971, she joined Wayman Chapel AME Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, president of the pastor’s aid, president of the birthday club, member of the missionary society, served on the usher board, member of the choir and the food committee.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Heroines of Jerico.
Survivors include five sons, Larry Hollie of Fort Worth, Dwight Hollie, Ronnie Hollie and Gill Hollie all of Temple, and Johnny Hollie of Snyder; two daughters, Sharon Glass of Fort Worth and Marilyn Hollie of Temple; two brothers, Billie Franklin of Fort Worth and Early V. Franklin of Houston; two sisters, Joyce Franklin and Vera Jackson, both of Temple; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Public viewing will be noon-7 p.m. today with visitation 6-7 p.m. today at Hornsby-Murcherson Funeral Home in Temple.
