ROCKDALE — Services for Mary A. Manning, 89, of Shreveport, La., and formerly Rockdale will be at 2 p.m. today in IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.
She died Friday, Sept. 14, at a Shreveport nursing home.
Mrs. Manning was born in Cullman, Ala., to Carl Alexander and Eugene Shikel. She was a homemaker. She married Elwood S. Manning on Dec. 9, 1944, in Morehead, N.C. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1976. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rockdale.
Survivors include two sons, Paul A. Manning of Tacoma, Wash., and Philip E. Manning of Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Patricia A. Manning of Shreveport; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
