CAMERON — Charlie Richardson, 82, of Rockdale and formerly Gainesville died Sunday, Sept. 16, at a Cameron nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville with the Rev. Jim Bowden officiating.

Mr. Richardson was born in Gainesville to Edward Lee and Nola Beatrice Mann Richardson. He was an independent insurance agent for Southland Life Insurance Company. He married Erma Jean Fellers on April 11, 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was past master of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife of Rockdale; two sons, Jim Richardson of Rockdale and Tim Richardson of Kingwood; one daughter, Linda Shelton of Denison; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
