Temple fire badly damages two apartments at The Bluffs

No one was injured but 15 people were displaced by a fire that badly damaged two apartments at The Bluffs Apartments, 4102 W. Adams Ave., about 12:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Six other apartments had smoke or water damage, said Thomas Pechal, a Temple Fire and Rescue spokesman. Electrical power had to be shut off at a total of 16 apartments.

No one was at home at apartment 141, which received heavy fire damage, or at apartment 242, which received some fire and smoke damage, Pechal said. When the first fire engine arrived at 12:59 p.m., flames and smoke were showing in the downstairs apartment and the front door was gone, he said. Smoke was coming from the upstairs apartment.
