The cold front that brought a mixture of heavy rains, gusty winds and low temperatures to Temple and Central Texas will last through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.
The storms could produce small hail and freezing rain in the Temple area by Sunday night, when the temperature might fall to 29 degrees.
North winds could be 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Freezing rain and sleet are likely before noon Monday, when the high will be near 32 degrees. There is a slight chance of sleet Monday night, the NWS said, with a low of 26 degrees.
A downtown gauge in Temple measured 5.50 inches of rain by about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. A gauge in south Temple recorded 4.00 inches, with almost 2.00 inches of that falling between noon and 1 p.m. Templeweather.com recorded more than 4.00 inches by about 5 p.m.
