That seems to be the motto the Temple school district has adopted.

Through a scholarship-loan program, TISD is recruiting its next generation of teachers. The district fishes for potential program candidates from its current student body.

After looking at profiles, grades and letters of recommendation, the district sends the chosen candidate to college for classes in teacher education. And then, the district hires that person, a teacher now, no longer a student.

Aptly named, the program is called Grow Your Own.
