Services for Helen Phillips Chapman Sommers, 92, of Houston, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress, Las Cruces, N.M., with the Rev. Rix Tillman officiating.

She died Saturday, Jan. 13, in Houston.

She was born on a farm near Harrisburg, Ill.

She and her family moved to Las Cruces, N.M., in 1924. She married Dwight L. Chapman in 1937 and they moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

They were divorced in 1960, after which she moved back to Las Cruces to live with her sister Sarah.

She married Luke Sommers in 1982 and they moved to Temple, where she lived until 2004.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1994.

She is survived by a son, Dwight L. Chapman Jr.
