Elson White Jr.

Services for Elson White Jr., 58, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Temple with the Rev. Roscoe Harrison Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Temple.

Mr. White died Wednesday, Jan. 24, at his residence.

He was born in Temple to Elson and Rodessa White Sr. He lived in Temple all of his life, attended Dunbar High School, and was a member of Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Scott and White Memorial Hospital for three years, and later worked for Pactiv Corporation for 33 years as a resin control operator. He married Helen Kindred on Jan. 13, 2007.

Survivors are his wife of Temple; his parents, Rodessa and Lonnie Holleman of Temple; four brothers, Kenneth White of Lancaster, Ronnie Holleman and Larry Holleman, both of Temple, and Bobby Joe White of Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Shirley Hopkins, Betty Dudley and Merilyn Lang, all of Temple, and Donna White of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters, La Tosha White and Shimeka Taylor of Temple and

SUMMARY OF PROPOSED FRANCHISE Atmos Energy Corporation On November 6, 2008, the City Council of the City of Temple considered on first reading an ordinance renewing the gas franchise of Atmos Energy Corporation. The City Council will consider the proposed ordinance on second reading on November 20, 2008 and conduct a public hearing on December 4, 2008 when it gives final consideration to the proposed renewal of the franchise ordinance. PURPOSE: A non-exclusive franchise is proposed for Atmos Energy Corporation to use the public streets, alleys and easements to sell and transport gas in and through the City of Temple, Texas. TERM: The franchise is effective for a term of fifteen (15) years. COMPENSATION/ FRANCHISE FEE: Compensation for the use of the City streets and right-of-way shall be four percent (4%) of the Gross Revenues, as defined in the franchise ordinance. EFFECTIVE DATE: The effective date of this franchise shall be January 1, 2009, provided that Atmos Energy Corporation has filed with the City its written acceptance of the terms and conditions of this franchise. NOT ASSIGNABLE: Franchise is not assignable without the approval of the City Council. A copy of the complete text of the proposed franchise ordinance is available for inspection or copying at the Office of the City Secretary, 1st Floor, Room 103, Municipal Building, 2 North Main Street, Temple, Texas, during normal business hours.
