Russ Permenter came up big for the Temple Wildcats on Tuesday night against Killeen Shoemaker at Wildcat Gym. He used his 6-9 frame to score a season-high 37 points, grab 14 rebounds and block 10 shots.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they made 24 turnovers and the Grey Wolves executed better down the stretch to give Shoemaker a 68-61 win.

Permenter had 18 points in the first half despite missing four of his first eight shots and added 19 in the second half. Seven of his blocks came in the final 16 minutes.

The loss dropped Temple (12-15) to 1-7 in District 13-5A, leaving it nothing more than an extremely remote mathematical chance of reaching postseason competition. Shoemaker (12-16) remained alive in the playoff race at 4-5.
