Killeen police officers stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation on April 10 and found three men with “a quantity of methamphetamine,” according to the arrest affidavit. As officers questioned the men it was learned that they were on their way to a Killeen-area motel to meet Jason Kevin Preston, the report said.
As officers approached Preston’s motel room, they smelled methamphetamine, the report said. After a brief conversation outside his room, Preston, 29, allowed officers inside where they found a blowtorch, plastic bags used to package drugs, marijuana, a scale, pipe and a bag with 7 grams of methamphetamine inside, the affidavit said.
During the search officers also found numerous cell phones in Preston’s room that were, according to the report, busy with calls coming in asking about drugs and text messages concerning the same.
