SHERMAN — A memorial service for William Clyde Crews, 77, of Sherman will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman.
He died Friday, Oct. 12, at a Sherman nursing home.
Mr. Crews was born in Jarrell to William Cleveland Crews and Lydia Ella Velma Haynes. He retired from Republic National Bank in Dallas in 1998 after 35 years of service.
He served in the 40th Division of the U.S. Army. He graduated from Salado High School and attended Nixon Clay Business College in Austin.
He was a former member of Prairie Dell Baptist Church. He had lived in Sherman the last 23 years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nelda Bridges Dennis Crews of Sherman; one son, Weldon Clyde Crews of Mesquite, two daughters, Elizabeth Crews Miller of Frisco and Gayle Crews Zischkale of Sherman; two brothers, David Leo Crews of Dallas and James Crews of Bartlett; one sister, Selma Crews Watson of Pineville, La.; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2627 Loy Lake Road, Sherman 75090.
Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman is in charge of arrangements.
