Services for Lawrence Ockelberry Jr., 61, of Temple will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Willie E. Robertson officiating.

Burial will be in Temple Garden of Memories.

Mr. Ockelberry died Saturday, Oct. 13, at a Temple hospital.

He was born in Temple to Lawrence Ockelberry Sr. and Yvonne Ockelberry. He worked many years for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving three years as an airman. He graduated from Dunbar High School in Temple in 1964, where he played on the Panther football team. He was married to Renae Berry. He was a Jehovah’s Witness. He was a former member of Bethel IME Church in Temple.

Survivors include his wife of Temple; three brothers, Thomas Calvin Ockelberry Sr., L.G. Ockelberry and George Ockelberry, all of Temple; one sister, Mary Anderson of Temple; and his mother, of Temple.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
