Bill Stubblefield

GATESVILLE — Bill Stubblefield, 68, of Flat died Friday, Nov. 2, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.

He was born in Bell County to William and Elizabeth Gober Stubblefield. He was a carpenter, working in the southern United States on dam projects of tributaries on the Mississippi River. He married Shirley Shelton in 1963.

They lived in Flat most of their married lives. He was reared and went to school in the Whitehall Community and Moody. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge in Ozark, Ark.

Survivors include his wife of Gatesville; two sons, Mark Stubblefield of Fort Worth and Gordon Summers of New Braunfels; two daughters, Sherry Carter of Ozark and Becky McDow of Moody; 12 brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Gatesville Funeral Home.
