GATESVILLE — Services for Charles Cook, 95, of Gatesville will be 10 a.m. today at Gatesville Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Crosby officiating.
Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery.
Mr. Cook died Saturday, Nov. 3, at a Gatesville hospital.
He was born in White Hall to James S. and Annie Blackwell Cook. He was the 1929 Salutatorian at Turnersville High School. He entered the U.S. Armed Forces in 1942 and served in the Office of Strategic Service. He married Vela Mae Morgan on Aug. 12, 1944. He worked on Fort Hood, an air conditioning service and 16 years for the city of Dallas in building maintenance. He and his wife moved back to Gatesville after he retired in 1974. He was a deacon at Indian Hills Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife.
