KILLEEN — Services with full military honors for Marvin E. Hamblin, 81, of Harker Heights will be 9 a.m. Friday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen with Bishop Horace Holden officiating.
Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Hamblin died Tuesday, Nov. 6, in a Temple hospital.
He was born in Parrott, Va. to David and Minnie Hamblin. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945, and served in the Korean War. His awards include, the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal w/5 bronze campaign stars, World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Korean Occupation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, Good Conduct Medal. He retired in 1966 at Fort Hood. He then worked driving a truck for Griggs Equipment Company for 20 years. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Mason, and past Master of the Masonic lodge #338, member of the Karem Shrine, member of The Order of the Eastern Star #490 and member of the Grand Cross of Color Rainbow Girls.
Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society or American Cancer Society.
