BELTON — Services for H.L. “Red” Pilkinton, Jr., 83, of Temple will be 10 a.m. today with full military honors at Assumption Cemetery in Austin.
Mr. Pilkinton died Monday, Nov. 5, in Temple.
He was born in West Monroe, La. He was a World War II bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Corps/8th Air Force completing 35 combat missions over Germany. After an honorable discharge in 1945, he attended A&M University and Loyola University in Chicago. He worked in construction more than 60 years. His wife, Mary Ursula preceded him in death in 1983. He then moved his business to Del Rio. He moved to Temple in 2003 and continued estimating jobs and supervising projects on site.
Survivors include five children, Joseph, Mary-Lou, James, Annette P. Zwerneman and Pete.
Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
