LAMPASAS — Services for Velma Loreda Jones, 89, of Lampasas will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.

Burial will be in Straley Cemetery.

She died Tuesday, Nov. 6 at her home.

Mrs. Jones was born in Franklin County to Forrest Beavers and Ivy Pearl Ward Beavers. Velma worked on the family ranch and was a homemaker. She married Carlton N. Jones on Oct. 27, 1935, in Hobart, Okla. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church, and was active in Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Don Jones of Lampasas; one daughter, Martha Witcher of Granbury, one brother, Milford Beavers of San Angelo; one sister, Annie Straley of Adamsville; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Fosters Home for Children in Stephenville.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
