A memorial service for Peggy Joyce Dismukes Updyke, 66, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Heights Baptist Church in Temple with the Rev. Billy Koinm and Dr. Tom Henderson officiating.

Mrs. Updyke died Thursday, Nov. 8.

She was born in San Antonio to Willis H. Dismukes and Irma Beatty Dismukes. She moved to Ralls in 1952, where she graduated in 1959. She married Thomas Updyke on Aug. 12, 1962. She was a homemaker until she went to college to get her degree. She worked for the state of Texas in nursing homes as a psychologist, counselor and social worker. She was also a chaplain.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Mike Updyke of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter, Tisha Diffie of Phoenix; one brother, Eddie Dismukes of San Angelo; one sister, Giselle Dismukes of Ralls; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heights Baptist Church, 1220 S. 49th St., Temple 76504.
