SAN ANTONIO — Services for Bonnie Mildred Posey Velten, 95, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Mission Burial Park Chapel South in San Antonio.

A reception will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5520 S. Flores.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1215 S. Wall St. in Belton.

Mrs. Velten died Friday, Nov. 16, in Temple.

She was born near Stockdale. Mrs. Velten graduated from Harlandale High School and obtained degrees from Texas State University and Trinity University. She married Edward Earl Velten on Dec. 24, 1933.

She taught for more than 43 years in the Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio.

The last 25 years of her career, she was the principal of Stonewall and Flanders elementary schools. In 2001 she was inducted into the Harlandale ISD Hall of Fame.

She lived most of her life in San Antonio and for the last 15 years in Salado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Edward Earl Velten Jr., and one daughter, Mildred Ann “Micki” Velten Weilbacher.

She is survived by one grandchild.
