Services for Robert E. Hammarlund, 94, of Harker Heights will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bellwood Memorial Park with Chaplain Dar E. Evans officiating.
Entombment will follow in a private family mausoleum.
Mr. Hammarlund died Friday at a local nursing home.
He was born in Maple Hill, Kan. to Oscar Theodore and Lillie Miller Hammarlund. He graduated from Maple Hill High School. He married Helen M. Woody on Dec. 10, 1935, in Lyndon, Kan. He joined the U.S. Army Air Force on Nov. 11, 1942, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and served in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines. He was discharged as a staff sergeant on Feb. 19, 1946, at Fort Logan, Colo. He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Topeka, Kan. for 30 years before retiring as a supervisor.
Survivors are his wife of 72 years; a son, Donald A. Hammarlund of Harker Heights; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
