He was employed at Fletchers Feed and Swift Feed Companies in Temple for more than 10 years. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Georgia; two daughters, Patricia Southwell, Pam Gutierrez; three stepsons, Darrell Gatliff, Daniel Gatliff and Doyle Gatliff; two stepdaughters, Pam Heiner, Peggy McDowell; two brothers, Howard Johnson, James Johnson; a sister, Minnie Resendez; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor.
