Jerry Urubek

Jerry Urubek, 82, of Temple died Tuesday, Jan. 30, in a Temple hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker Brethren Church with the Rev. Ron Winsman officiating.

Burial will be in Ocker Brethren Church Cemetery with U.S. Air Force honors.

He was born in Ratibor to John and Annie Sodek Urubek. He attended school in New Colony and Rogers. He married Dorothy Nell Zabcik Kovar on June 25, 1986. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He worked as a tech sergeant, senior aircraft maintenance technician and an airplane maintenance instructor.

He was a member of American Lodge Post No. 133, SPJST Lodge No. 47, the Air Force Association and Ocker Brethren Church. He also worked for the VA Regional Office in the mail room and was a retail clerk.

Survivors are his wife of Temple; two step-daughters, Karen Bethke of Rogers and Gayle Farrow of Temple; a brother, Frank Urubek of Temple; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Ocker Brethren Church.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
