BELTON - Parker Davis has defended his crown.

For the second year in a row, the 14-year-old Oenaville 4-H Club member captured grand champion market steer honors at the Bell County Youth Fair and Livestock Show.

Davis said his steer, which has no name, weighs 1,291 pounds. The Troy eighth-grader has been competing in livestock shows for three years and also showed a grand champion goat this year.

Davis showed the grand champion market steer at the 2006 show, and that animal brought a whopping $14,509 at the auction.
