Dr. David Eanes Jr.

Services for Dr. David F.S. Eanes, 92, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Floca Pavilion in Hillcrest Cemetery, Temple with Rev. Margaret Boles officiating.

Dr. Eanes died on Friday, Feb. 2 in a Temple care center.

Dr Eanes was born in Galloway, Ark. to David F.S. Eanes Sr. and Ceola V. Calk Eanes. He graduated from Mabelvale High School and then attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, earning a Bachelor degree. He met Ruth I. Robinson of Tulsa, Okl. while studying and they married in 1939.

After graduating from University of Arkansas School of Medicine they moved to Temple where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Scott and White Hospital.

He then served in the United States Army Medical Corps until he was honorably discharged after World War II.

He then returned to Temple opening up his own practice. He retired at 72 years old. Dr. Eanes was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Temple.

Dr. Eanes is preceded in death by a grandson.

Survivors are his wife, three sons; Dr. David F.S. Eanes III, of McAllen, Gary E. Eanes of Austin, James A. Eanes of San Antonio; one daughter, Judith C. Eanes Duke; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson..

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 12 West French, Temple, 76501.
