Services for Dorothy Lassiter, 87, of Temple, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating.
Burial will be private in North Belton Cemetery.
Mrs. Lassiter died Monday, Feb. 5, in a local nursing home.
She was born in Belton to Elma and Virginia Birdwell Wilson. She was a graduate of Belton High school, where she was a cheerleader. She married James R. Lassiter on Sept. 6, 1972. She worked for the city of Temple water department for 11 years. She was with the Bell County Tax Office in Temple for 18 years, retiring as a manager in 1986. She was a member of First Christian Church in Temple and Scott and White Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Sherry Lewis of Waco and Sandra Shaffner of Temple; two sisters, Glenda Jo Henderson of Temple and Darline Womack of Fort Worth; a sister-in-law, Iva Lee Payne of Hamlin; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church or Lighthouse Hospice.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
