Obituary

Clarence W. Ruben

Services for Clarence W. Ruben, 73, of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Killeen with Timothy Walker Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mr. Ruben died Saturday, Feb 3, in his home.

He was born in Coy, Ala., to Anteny and Bertha Mae Ruben. He retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant. His awards and decorations include a United Nations Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; Army of Occupation Medal (Germany); National Defense Service Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal with clasp, bronze, four loops; and Expert (Rifle). He married Edna M. Walker in 1966. He worked for Giddens State Jail for 21 years.

Survivors are his wife of Killeen; two sons, Tederail Walker and Ray Walker, both of Killeen; two daughters, Ronda Baker of Los Angeles and Bertha Ruben of Killeen; his father of Akworth, Ala.; a brother, Anteny Ruben Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Bertha Mae Clark of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Killeen.

Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
