Police seek public’s help identifying suspect in Dollar Store shootings

KILLEEN - Police here are asking the public’s help in identifying a man in two videos and a still photo posted to the Temple Daily Telegram Web site, said Carole Smith, spokeswoman for the Killeen Police Department.

He is a suspect in the gunshot deaths July 4, 2007, of two employees of the Dollar General Store at 4100 W. Stan Schlueter Loop - Gricelda Ramos, 28, and Sheila Reed, 40, both of Killeen.

The two women were found shot to death by a police officer on patrol who stopped to investigate at 8:30 a.m. that morning. She found the rear door ajar and the burglar alarm blaring.

Ms. Reed was found dead on the floor and Ms. Ramos badly wounded but still alive. She died on arrival at a hospital emergency room.

The man seen in video No. 1 is believed to have entered the store on July 3 the day before the killings, said Ms. Smith.

Video No. 2 shows a man pulling on gloves while holding a gun. The still photo shows the same man heading to the back emergency exit and freight door to leave the building.

Ms. Smith said anyone recognizing the man in these photos or who has information about the shootings is asked to contact the Killeen Police Department at 501-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 526-8477.
