“Last Wednesday morning we were in the teens, with temps dropping to 15-17 degrees and highs in the 40s,” Mike Griffin, KCEN meteorologist, said.
More spring-like weather is expected today.
Some rain and a chance of thunderstorms is on today’s horizon, the effect of the storms in Northern California.
“Those storms will lose power as they come across the Rockies,” Griffin said. “This will be ahead of another cold front bringing temperatures back to average.”
“We are still dry,” Griffin said. “After all the rain we had last year, the last couple of months have been dry. We ended December 2 inches below average.”
A burn ban is still in effect in Bell County, which could be complicated by the heavy winds. Gusts up to 42 mph were reported at the KCEN station on Sunday. “We are not expecting to break any more records for the next seven days,” Griffin said.
“I am tracking another pretty good cool down by next weekend into the Sunday/Monday timeframe,” he said. “This may be another pretty good cold front coming in.”
